A Free ICT Recycling Programme


Reboot are pleased to announce they are running the Green Train Project, an ICT recycling programme.

The course is perfect for those who are interested in how computers work, computer diagnostics, refurbishment and testing. The programme will give you plenty of PC building experience in a working environment, an in depth knowledge of recycling computers and equipment as well as the opportunity to develop and learn more IT based skills.

The course is tutor led with technicians on site who are happy to support and give you any assistance you may need.

At the end of the course you will leave with a certificate in ICT Recycling and your own built computer worth up to £100 (providing you attend the full duration of the course).

Course syllabus:

  • Induction: IT refurbishment, recycling process, organisation information, health and safety, Facilities tour, overview of IT activities (stripping, recycling, testing, building and refurbishing).

  • Computer Stripping: Bench work, demonstrations, practice and support.

  • IT Refurbishment: Testing and diagnostics, re-building and demonstration.

  • Course Review and presentation.


The programme is split into three parts:

Week 1: Work experience starting as a worker in ICT Recycling.

Week 2: The 5 day training course.

Week 3: (Optional) Volunteering as an ICT recycling operative. (For more information on our volunteering placements please visit our website).
